Lately, I have been perfecting my salad making technique. Sure, it is probably one of the easiest dishes to make, but I have learned that it takes a bit of skill and method to select the perfect ingredients to produce an amazing tasting salad with a variety of flavors and textures. One of my favorite salads to make (and one of the quickest to make, in my opinion) is the Caprese Salad. It is crisp, filling and has the ultimate combination of fresh ingredients and protein.

All you need to make your own Caprese Salad are a few fresh, heirloom tomatoes (the more colorful, the better), a package of BelGioioso Fresh Mozzarella and a bunch of fresh basil leaves to go along with the Sardel Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Sardel Organic Balsamic Vinegar. The flavors that the latter two ingredients provide is superior. The extra virgin olive oil balances the slight acidity of the tomatoes while the organic balsamic vinegar has the perfect viscosity to drizzle over the minty taste of the basil leaves. Top off with freshly cracked pepper and salt to taste. Provecho.
